Nyx – The guardian of night, turned by Erebus himself and used against his will to turn the dreams he once protected into the nightmares Erebus demands. This is the character that the player controls through the game.

Erebus – The leader of Nightmares, Bitter and twisted like the things that he unleashes he seeks to capture the dreams of the innocent by all means necessary. Erebus is also a boss that occurs twice, his is the first and the last boss of the game, the player loses in his original challenge.

Artemis – The protector of dreams, uses her powers to protect the dreams of the innocent from Erebus until her mysterious disappearance.

Dionysus – Insane from nightmares, he promises Nyx a way to defeat Erebus by doing the very thing that he asks. Dionysus is the tutor for the player explaining the controls, costumes and collectables found within the game. At times he also acts as a narrator for the dreams as they unfold.
